HENKELL HISTORYThe history of the HENKELL family is their story as entrepreneurs for more than 175 years. It all started in 1832 in Mainz (Germany) with a small wine business founded by Adam Henkell that developed into Europe's largest sparkling wine company HENKELL & Co. Today the descendants of Adam Henkell are part of the property industry (see www.henkell.com.au). Today their wine (cum music) business is a more specialized one than it once was. The history of the HENKELL family, its entrepreneurial talent and success are strongly linked to the invention of marketing tools. Advertising has played an important role in the family's history and still does today. In particular Otto Henkell I (1869-1929) strongly focused on advertising by retaining famous artists of the times. Karl Henkell (1888-1944) and Otto Henkell II (1923-1988) followed this tradition however added their very own handwriting and flair to it. To this day members of the HENKELL family are proud to be personally involved in the “hands on” creative processes of advertising. |
